About Collections and Technical Services

Collections and Technical Services (CTS), in Libraries and Cultural Resources at the University of Calgary, acquires traditional and digital resources and makes them available to clients in support of learning, research and teaching. CTS, currently consisting of three inter-connected units: Acquisitions, Bibliographic Services and Collections Services, provides centralized support for the main MacKimmie Library and branches: Bennett Jones Law Library, Gallagher Library of Geology and Geophysics, Haskayne School of Business Library and the Health Sciences Library.

CTS works closely with members of a Sirsi-based systems consortium, Southern Alberta Integrated Libraries (SAIL) whose membership includes St. Ambrose University College, Bow Valley College, and St. Mary's University College providing them with documentation, training and support relating to the acquisitions and cataloguing modules of a common system. 

Working in close partnership with publishers, soft-ware suppliers and vendors, staff ensure resources and services are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
