These degree profiles look at potential jobs, key skills & atributes, associations & professional development and great books which relate to each degree and its potential career path.

Psychology

Psychology is the scientific study of brain and behaviour. Psychologists analyze the psychological, behavioural, and social bases of how humans think, feel, and behave.

Key Skills & Knowledge

Teamwork and leadership ability: Familiar with group dynamics; conflict resolution, mediation and concern for others.

Critical/Analytical thinking: Abstract reasoning skills; integrate knowledge from a variety of disciplines and perspectives; interpretation and explanation of scientific research.

Knowledge of human behaviour: Knowledge about the physiological, emotional, cognitive and social determinants of human behavior; fascination with unexplainable behavior.

Thorough and precise: Read materials accurately and analytically, organized and able to meet deadlines.

Problem solving skills: Understanding components of complex problems; approaching topics and problems from various perspectives; analyzing multiple dimensions of a problem; identifying problems and developing solutions.

Quantitative and Qualitative research methods of data collection: Statistical analysis and evaluation; listening and interviewing skills.

Communication: Writing skills, presenting material in an easy to ready manner, familiar with writing reports; public speaking and effective communication skills.
