Student, Faculty and Staff Borrowing Privileges at Other Libraries
Canadian University Libraries
Graduate students, faculty and staff of the University of Calgary can borrow books when visiting other university libraries across Canada. This is possible through a mutual agreement between Canada's four regional university library consortia. Before you go, obtain a COPPUL Card, which is available from the Circulation Desks in the MacKimmie (Main) Library or Health Sciences Library. Please be aware that loans will be governed by the conditions of borrowing at the library you are visiting.

Undergraduate students are able to borrow books from university libraries across Western, Canada, Ontario and Atlantic Canada. The exceptions are Quebec Universities, the University of Toronto and the Ontario College of Art and Design. This is possible through a mutual agreement between three of Canada's four regional university library consortia. TAL (The Alberta Library) Card
Students, faculty and staff of the University of Calgary can borrow books when visiting other libraries within the province of Alberta that participate in The Alberta Library Card program. All four of Alberta's university libraries, most college libraries and most public libraries participate in the program. A holder of an Alberta Library Card may check out up to five books at one time from a participating library. In order to do so, you must first obtain a TAL (The Alberta Library) Card which is available from the Circulation Desks in the MacKimmie (Main) Library or the Health Sciences Library.
SAIL Consortirum SAIL Consortium Libraries are libraries that share the University of Calgary's Sirsi Library System. By showing your University of Calgary ID Card, students, faculty and staff can borrow up to 50 items from another consortium library. Current active member libraries:
Reciprocating Libraries The institutions mentioned below have direct (non-consortial) reciprocal borrowing agreements with the University of Calgary Library. The X's identify which members of the university community have borrowing privileges at each institution. By showing your University of Calgary Campus Card to identify yourself as a U of C student, faculty or staff member, you can borrow material at the following institution's libraries. There is a five item limit to what one can borrow from these institutions at one time.
