Campus Alberta Applied Psychology (CAAP)

Welcome and Introduction

The following pages provide most of what you need to know about library services relating to the Campus Alberta Graduate Program in Counselling (CAAP). You'll learn which databases are most relevant to your program, how to find full text online or order research materials to be delivered to your home, how to cite materials found in hard copy or online, which libraries on campus can help you, and perhaps most importantly, you'll meet the librarians who are involved in making your education a success.

Important - New CAAP Consortium Model

According to the CAAP site, http://www.abcounsellored.net/ (December 2007, now defunct):

"Beginning January 2008, the CAAP: Counselling Initiative will move to a new administrative model. The new model moves away from the highly centralized administration of the joint programs to consortium model in which each of the three institutional partners will be offering its own graduate programs in counselling."

What does this mean for library services? Students now must use library services at the school where they have registered.

  • Research Databases: If you have a University of Calgary ID (UCID) card, and are an Athabasca University or University of Lethbridge student, your card will not work on the University of Calgary databases in the new year. Instead, use the databases available via your home institution.
  • Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery: Document Delivery will now be handled via your home institution. Contact your librarian via the "Your Librarian" links on the left for more instructions
  • Online Readings: Athabasca University students can continue to use the DRR; University of Calgary students can access readings via Blackboard. University of Lethbridge students should contact their instructor for instructions on readings.
