Archives Guide

What information should be included in citing archival material?

In addition to established manuals of style for citing materials, here are some tips to ensure you are citing archival sources fully in your assignments.

1. Name of the fonds/collection

2. Accession number

3. Box and/or file number

4. Location of the fonds

Ask the archivist to confirm the appropriate elements.
