Ratio Calculator (Business Development Bank of Canada) (Open Access)
-- Choose a ratio, enter data for the fields, press the Calculate button, and the ratio calculator will provide a result with a brief explanation.

Beta is a measurement of stock price volatility relative to a broad market index; the tendency of a security's returns to respond to swings in the market. The beta of the market is 1.00, so a beta of less than 1 means that the security will be less volatile than the market.
