East Asian Language Studies will provide you with solid training in all four language skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) in the two main East Asian languages, namely Chinese and Japanese.

Critical Thinking:  Creative thinking; Evaluating Ideas, theories and evidence; Interdisciplinary perspective

Cross-cultural Communication:  Intercultural Awareness; Sensitivity to cultural viewpoints; Multi-cultural appreciation

Interpretation:  Understanding and interpreting culture, religion and beliefs; Interpret historical ideas in a modern context

Oral and written communication:  Gather & disseminate information; Compiling observations and data into comprehensive reports

Research:  Observe people and things; Analysis and synthesis of information; Literary analysis; Summarize ideas; Planning and organization skills

Aptitude for Language and Acquisition:  Understanding of language structures; Command of grammar and syntax; Knowledge of vocabulary and grammar; Evaluate translations and original texts

Attention to Detail:  Editing and Revision
