Chemical Engineering

Oil and gas engineering focuses on finding innovative, economical and environmentally sustainable ways to explore, develop and produce oil and gas. The industry is growing and evolving and offers many exciting career opportunities.

Our school’s location in Calgary, the energy capital of Canada, gives us strong connections to the oil and gas industry. Our professors understand the industry’s needs and challenges, which means students graduate with knowledge and skills that are valuable and relevant.

As an oil and gas engineer, your work could include evaluating reservoirs using reservoir description and modeling techniques, overseeing drilling operations or designing hydrocarbon production and treatment facilities.

  • Knowledge of technologies specific to oil and gas exploration and production, geological principles, principles of energy and mass conservation, thermodynamics
