Open Data: Repositories
A "repository" is a central place where databases or files are located for maintenance, organization and distribution over a network. 
Many universities now have institutional repositories that hold large amounts of digital materials created by faculty, students and research groups. These repositories may contain journal articles, theses, dissertations, datasets and more.
- Scholars Portal Research Data RepositoriesCanadian data repositories by discipline. "The data centres and repositories described in this guide collect, organize, and disseminate datasets in order to stimulate research and accelerate discovery."
- Registry of Open Access RepositoriesFind relevant repositories by selecting country, software, and type of repository. "Research data" and "Open and linked data" are 2 of the available repository types.
- OpenDOAR: Directory of Open Access RepositoriesA global directory of academic open access repositories. As well as providing a simple repository list, OpenDOAR lets you search for repositories or search repository contents. You may filter by content type to retrieve datasets.
- Re3Data: Registry of Research Data RepositoriesUse the Search tab to search for global repositories. The left sidebar provides filters to retrieve relevant results.
- Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social ResearchA repository commonly used for social sciences data.
- Ranking Web of RepositoriesProvides global access to academic repositories. Arranged by geographic region and also ranks institutional repositories.
