Education - SMART Boards

This is a quick 'Getting Started' guide for interactive displays with a focus on SMART Technologies products that are commonly found in Alberta K-12 schools.

A SMART Board is an example of an interactive whiteboard (IWB). Interactive whiteboards combine:

  • a large video display
  • a whiteboard (to write on digitally)
  • a touch screen to navigate what is displayed

Use your fingers to scroll and zoom. Use the pens (or your fingers) to add comments to displayed content or collaborate with students to create content.

The Doucette Library has two SMART Boards for education students to use. There is one located in the instructional area and one located in a collaboration room. Please email if you would like to book the collaboration room for SMART Board practice.
