What is a Resume? A resume is a marketing document that shows a potential employer what relevant skills, education and accomplishments you have that will benefit them. It should demonstrate your talents and abilities for a specific job and shows that you CAN do the job, and WANT to do the job.

Resume Rescue

Join Career Services on Wednesdays from 11 to 1 during the Fall and Winter semesters to have your resume or cover letter reviewed. Resume Rescue is a drop-in service for current uCalgary students and alumni. Please bring a hard copy of your resume or cover letter. Students are seen on a first come, first served basis. Come early!

Quick Tips

Use the same font on your resume & cover letter.
Tailor each resume to each job you apply to.
Do your research! Find out as much as you can about the job and company you are applying to.
Include sections like: Profile/summary of skills/highlightsEducationExperience, & Volunteer or community involvement.
