When you don't have time to read everything in preparation for comprehensive exams, reference material can help. It can offer overviews, and provide context for terms, theories, literary historical periods, and so on. This guide will give you a 'leg up' on exploring some of the library's reference resources that might make your exam preparation easier.
To navigate through the guide, use the left-hand menu. There you'll find a couple of sample searches, which demonstrate that like most research, using reference material is not a linear process. For each search there are three tabs:
- What's in databases?
- What's in ref?
- What's in print and ebooks?
"Choosing your own adventure" underscores that these samples are just that: samples.
