Aboriginal Veterans Archives
Military Museums

With the assistance of Museums Alberta, the Aboriginal Veterans Archives were formed to focus on the role of Canadian aboriginal peoples in the military and the relationships between these two groups. The collections range from the late 1700s to the present and include individuals, specific units and battalions and various issues relating to pension rights, land claims and sovereignty.     The collections consist of papers and photographs, original and digital, as well as books, pamphlets, videos and other published items.   The Archives can be searched through a name index which, along with the items themselves, can be viewed at the Military Museums.     To donate material to the Archives or to consult the collections, please call the Librarian/Archivist at 403-974-2831.   For further information on the Archives or for resources for research and teaching, please check out the website.
