The Fine Arts & Audio Resources collection is comprised of a music sound recording collection of over 10,000 CDs, 40,000 LPs and 1,000 cassette tapes; 6,000 music parts; 1,000 spoken-word sound recordings; 13,800 Canadian Artist and Gallery Files; numerous Theatre and Playwright Files; and a small collection of items in other formats, e.g. slide sets, art CDs, videos, and portfolios of loose plates. Note that the main video and slide collections are located in the Visual Resources Centre.
The Fine Arts Reference Desk is the main service point for circulation of the staff-mediated Fine Arts and audio collections as well as for Fine Arts reference. In addition, we offer a mediated-search service to two art auction databases, Artprice.com and AskART.com, to individuals in Southern Alberta for personal or educational (non-commercial) use.
