Price List


$80 per hour

  • 1/2 hour minimum
  • 1 hour minimum after hours
  • Studio Copy Work - 1/4 hour minimum


Positive or negative film of any size as well as prints or documents up to 12" x 18" are scanned with basic cropping, level adjustment and very minor clean-up

$5 - flat copy up to 12 x 18

$5 - 35mm film or slide

$8 - larger film sizes

Studio Portraits

$35 - Basic Portrait

A short sitting where the best image is chosen right away, then the edited, high-resolution version is delivered by email.

$50 - Standard Portrait

A longer sitting where several low-resolution images are sent by email as proofs.  The chosen image is then edited and returned as a high-resolution version by email.

$75 - Executive Portrait

A more in-depth sitting where specific publication or printing requirements need to be met (large framed portraits, authors' portraits for book covers, specific backgrounds, etc.)  Low-resolution proofs, followed by a high-resolution final version are delivered by email.

  • All work must be paid by either an inter-departmental billing number along with the account holder's name or by cash/credit card.
  • Work for LCR is charged on a materials only basis.
  • General campus work is charged on a labour and materials basis.

Dave Brown provides professional photography, scanning and printing services to the diverse groups that make up Libraries and Cultural Resources (University Archives, Special Collections, the Canadian Architectural Archives, the Nickle Galleries, The Military Museums and Archives, the U of C Press).  The digitization, restoration and reproduction of items from the various collections allows for their exposure to a much wider audience and preserves the originals.  The studio and office are located in the Taylor Family Digital Library, Room 201. 

In addition, and as time allows, LCR Photo Services provides the campus community with services ranging from studio portraiture and copy work, to the annual group photographs of the Board of Governors, the Senate and various departmental groups, as well as coverage of each Convocations's special award recipient.
