How do I find the impact factor of a journal?

Impact factors are calculated on an annual basis, and can be found in the Journal Citation Reports database.

The impact factor is a measure of the frequency with which the average article in a journal has been cited in a particular year.

Not all journals have an impact factor. Journals must apply to be selected, and the evaluation process is rigorous.  To learn more about measures of journal impact, see the Research ID and Impact Guide.
