LCR hosts students from several student work programs at the University of Calgary. Read more below about these opportunities, when they are usually posted, and how to apply.

Undergraduate Students

Student Navigators work at the Taylor Family Digital Library to support students and library patrons with their IT and technology questions.

These part-time positions will be posted on the University of Calgary Career Link website or the UCalgary Careers website. Hiring generally occurs in July and/or August for the upcoming academic year.

LCR frequently hosts participants from the Indigenous Summer Student Program, an annual work experience program that promotes career development through Indigenous ways of knowing, doing, connecting and being. Our ISSP students support reference, instruction, collections, digital services, summer programming, and other areas or projects that strengthen UCalgary’s Indigenization, while developing unique career skills.

Positions will be posted on the UCalgary Careers website in February of each year.

Peer Roamers work at the Taylor Family Digital Library to create a community of support by collaborating with staff and other Peer Roamers, helping students navigate the resources available in the library, and informing visitors of what the TFDL is able to offer.

The Peer Roamer program is part of the UCalgary Peer Helper Program. Applications for this program open mostly throughout the spring/summer semesters with a fall semester start. Visit the Peer Helper Program website to view available opportunities and to apply.
