Find your item using the library search box.
If the book/article you are looking for is not found, then click to expand your search to libraries outside of the University of Calgary.
If your items come up, it will display a link to Get it for me from other libraries. You'll be prompted to sign in to your account, if you haven't already. Click the Get it button that appears, and the request will be placed for you.
If the item you need still isn't coming up, click the link at the top of the search results that says, Still didn't find what you need? This will take you to a form to fill out manually.
You will get a notification ‘The request was successfully submitted’. When the item is ready for you to download or pick up, you will be sent an email with instructions on how to download or where to pick up your item.
Use this option if you don’t find what you need through the library search box or a library database.
Go directly to the interlibrary loan form and sign in. Please note that adding in the ISBN (books) or ISSN (journals) will help our system fill your request faster. If your item doesn't have an ISBN or ISSN, type "Not applicable" in the box.
You will get a notification ‘The request was successfully submitted’. When the item is ready for you to download or pick up, you will be sent an email with instructions on how to download or where to pick up your item.
You will receive an e-mail when your item is ready. This e-mail will provide instructions for retrieving your electronic item or where to pick up your physical item. If it is a physical item, you must sign it out. Please keep the paper form with your item when you return it.
You can access your requests by logging into your University of Calgary library account and clicking on "Requests" . The status of the item you requested will show, for example, is currently "in process by lender."
