Borrowing Services

The University of Calgary TFDL library borrowing services provides access to the book and digital resources on and off-campus.

Our borrowing services are available to the following audiences (for more information, select those applicable to you in the menu):

UCalgary Students, Staff, Faculty, and General Associates

UCalgary students, staff, faculty, and associates have full access to library spaces, borrowing privileges, and digital resources using their Unicard and IT credentials, with policies in place for loans, renewals, fines, and account management.

Distance Education Borrowing

UCalgary Distance Education students can access library spaces, borrow and request materials, and use digital resources remotely with their Unicard and IT credentials, following standard borrowing and account policies.

Retired Staff, Emeritus Borrowing

Retired Staff and Emeritus at UCalgary can access library services, borrow materials, and use digital resources by signing in with their Unicard and IT credentials, with borrowing and account activity managed under standard library guidelines.

Continuing Education

Continuing Education students at UCalgary can use library facilities, borrow items, and access online resources and printing services by registering with a Unicard and guest login, while adhering to borrowing limits and account guidelines.

SAIL Partners Borrowing

Students, faculty, and staff from SAIL partner institutions can use UCalgary Libraries by presenting their institutional library card, with access to borrowing, study spaces, and limited services governed by standard library guidelines.

Community Users, The Alberta Library (TAL), CURBA & COPPUL

Community users can access UCalgary Libraries for study, borrowing, and limited services by registering with valid ID, while following established borrowing rules and account guidelines.

Alumni Borrowing

UCalgary alumni can access library facilities and resources with a guest pass and Unicard, allowing limited borrowing, computer use, and access to select digital databases, while adhering to specific policies on fines, renewals, and account management.

  1. Return or renew items by due dates

  2. Plan for trips by returning items that may be recalled

  3. Login to my account to check due dates

  5. Pay attention to recall email notifications (check spam folder too)
