The Research Data Centre (RDC) has two secure facilities at the University of Calgary campus, namely the Prairie Regional RDC (PRRDC) and the University of Calgary Foothills Campus Satellite RDC. The PRRDC is located in the Taylor Family Digital Library on the main campus. This location has three primary spaces; the main lab, the training room and the conference room. There are twenty-three workstations divided between the main lab and the training room. The training room has a large screen to facilitate teamwork and teaching and can be used for academic courses and workshops. Statistical software available in the RDC includes Stata, SAS, SPSS, Python and R.
The University of Calgary Foothills Campus Satellite RDC is located within the Centre for Health Informatics at the Foothills campus. There are two workstations available in this location. Researchers can access Stata, SAS, Python and R at this location.
Both locations are staffed by Statistics Canada employees. RDC researchers are typically affiliated with the University of Calgary (faculty, students and staff). Approved RDC projects have produced publications in journals and books, Doctoral dissertations and Master’s theses.
