Open Education

Open Education focuses on open technologies, resources, practices, and knowledge that can be freely used and shared to reduce barriers and increase access to education and knowledge sharing.

Why Open Education?

Open Education is centred around reducing barriers to education for students including access, financial costs, accessibility, and spaces. Open Education supports social justice, sustainability, and equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Within teaching and learning, there are three main areas of focus for Open Education including open educational resources (OER), open pedagogy or open educational practices (OEP), and open access.
