The Alan MacDonald Graduate Commons

The Alan MacDonald Graduate Commons is a shared space on the 5th floor of the TFDL with the intended purpose to provide space for graduate students who are at the stage of intensive research and writing.

All graduate students are eligible to apply for a spot. Check the Graduate Commons FAQ for availability and application process.

The Taylor Family Digital Library is the main campus library. In addition, we have several branches on different campuses: on main campus, Bennett Jones Law Library, Business Library, Doucette Library (Education), and Gallagher Library (Sciences and Engineering). On the Foothills campus, you’ll find the Health Sciences Library. We also operate the Military Museums Library & Archives.

Centre for Artificial Intelligence Ethics, Literacy and Integrity (CAIELI)

CAIELI is a collaboration between Libraries & Cultural Resources and Werklund School of Education. This transdisciplinary student-focused initiative aims to encourage effective and ethical use of AI on campus.

Students can visit the Centre located in the Doucette Library in the Education Block.

Makerspace

The Makerspace in the Taylor Family Digital Library provides hands on access to technologies for DIY making and collaboration. Only currently affiliated students, faculty and staff of the University of Calgary may gain access to the Makerspace. Anyone may visit the Makerspace during opening hours to see example projects and learn more about our equipment and services.
